I relate to you because I used to call my oldest (now 12) Doodle. Your journey sounds similar to mine with my youngest son who's seven. I don't know if there ever comes a feeling of mastering the journey but you seem to be managing with great strength.
www.whininginmysleep.comCatBhttp://www.whininginmysleep.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8077151913672187133.post-59793195608608260152013-09-05T07:16:50.771-07:002013-09-05T07:16:50.771-07:00I am happy to find out that you also love to lamin...I am happy to find out that you also love to laminate - so do I! Your writing of Doodle made me laugh out loud today! So cute! People are so much more real on the internet...Thank you for your realness. Thank you for sharing what autism is all about...Thank you for sharing how you feel because I have the same feelings as I struggle with my own challenges...Thank you for showing me how to be more real and for even just reminding me to be real so that someone else will feel the freedom to be real too. And with that release will probably come some peace. It has happened for me anyway;hope it does the same for others!Love the previous commenter's remark,"Do I think the 2 year olds are going to judge my grapes? I get nervous about snacks too! It's been a ride and the wheels continue to turn. As the years have passed I have gone through and continue to go through(believe it or not with less frequency) the ups and downs you talked about. Acceptance at being human and not fixing everything at once has gotten me through. There are so many things to work on that when teachers and therapists say go over this go over that you feel like saying " do you have any idea how many people told me to do something today?". Sometimes it's not possible to tick all the boxes everyday and that's okay. At the end of the day if everyone is happy and alive I've done my job. Life experiences lately have been my goal. Day trips to aquariums, zoos in the fall and winter (when it's empty), animal farms whatever have been the name of the game. Keep the chin up and keep the wheels turning, that's all anyone can ask. I am also more nervous than is natural over taking snack to my son's preschool class this morning. What the hell am I afraid of? Do I think the 2 year olds are going to judge my grapes? I will leave you with that awesome sentence.

Carry on, warrior.
Sarah Ochoahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00778398515071193896noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8077151913672187133.post-32812148182719798352013-09-05T04:49:05.651-07:002013-09-05T04:49:05.651-07:00Loved it, as usual!
