itty bitty road trip

Next week we are traveling to our old home in Hermosa, so today we took a little mini-road trip to prepare you...and ourselves... OK- we had a slight ulterior motive since we also happened to go to the outlet malls.
It started out OK. You and I sat in the back and watched our Baby Einstein for the 3,487 th time. We rode a helicopter ride as soon as we made it to the outlet which really set the day out on the right foot. PhotobucketI guess I should find it unsurprising that a budding, "I just learned to walk- so lemme try these legs out!" toddler should hate shopping for clothes. B-O-R-I-N-G.
After about an hour and a half you were OVER IT. Photobucket We were sneaking up on nap time and we still have our one hour drive home. Not to mention Michael and I forget to bring and/or feed you lunch. Ah ha! Now you know... we're not perfect. You didn't seem to mind too much as you sucked the cinnamon and sugar off of a pretzel. Hmmmm......sounds like a nutritious meal, fit for a 14 month old to me.
Like I've said before, even when things aren't perfect, they are perfect for us. We went home, you napped and all that was sad was forgotten as you played with the hose. My kind of day...Photobucket/div>Photobucket

Summer

Summer is the best time of year. Certainly one of my favorites. The sun stays out late to make time for more adventures. This Summer has been monumental for the Kelly Family. I look back on our Summer and I sigh....cuz it was good....and wonder what kind of beauty Fall will bring our way. Whatever it is, you know it will be good, because we'll be together.
This summer was beautiful because in June we were all reunited again. I got to stay home with you. We moved to Fresno. You learned to swim- actually who am I kidding- you are a natural- I think you always knew- you just got to actually show us...Photobucketyou learned to walk...and talk....almost...if momma, and dadda and wow count. Which they do.
We go on walks every day and soak it all up- the heat, the beauty, the birds. We taste our favorite fresh bread at Great Harvest- you and I could both survive on Cinnamon Chip bread alone..
Next weekend we will go for a trip down memory lane and visit our old digs in Hermosa.

Today we are blessed

Today is one of the best days that the Universe has ever come up with. It has been a special gift....just for you, and for me and daddy, and Jack & Belle, and all the people that Love us, Family and Friends...
Tonight as I rocked you to sleep I looked down to see you cuddled deep into my arms and my chest and my belly and I felt so....very very full. You couldn't snuggle in close enough, and that's how I like it and at that moment, I knew I was a good momma, because my boy loves me so very much. And although you can't yet speak, you tell me just how much you love me every single day. Sometimes it's in a squeeze, often times it's in the smile you have reserved only just for me...but every time it happens, well...it's magic.
We call you so many things....Grey-by, Baby G, Bitty G, Monkey....today we add a new one to the bunch...Big Brother....My heart already swells with pride for our adventures to come.
And I know soon, sooner than we think, as we have our nightly snuggles we will make room in between us for our next precious bundle.
