They define who we are and who we want to be. They leave an impression on the World. They leave a mark on the people around us.
Words are powerful.
They can do the extreme. They can cause deep pain, they can complain, then can gossip, they can hurt... they can ask for help, they can heal, they can encourage, they can love and they can inspire. Think about the words you are putting out there. Make them good ones.
Words provide us with inspiration. Some days it would be nice to have it...some days it's imperative for our very survival... We need it to breath, like oxygen. We look to movies and song lyrics...to the Bible, and our friends for words that inspire us. For words that can be placed on little folded up pieces of paper and stored in our soul.
Greyson can not use his words, therefore I must be his voice. He is the inspiration for this very blog.
All of you reading inspire me too. You inspire me to write and to photograph more, to try new things, to be better, to not give up, to not be afraid to try and even to fail. You inspire me to share my heart and my flaws, to not be afraid to be silly or sad or happy or real. Writing reminds me that I want to be all of those things. Thank you, friend.
I can't wait to tell you about Parker's First Birthday party on Saturday. A few weeks ago my Mom asked me, "What is the theme for Parker's First Birthday?" and I said, "Happy Hour"... She paused and said, "Yes, but what will the theme be? Like monkeys- or Trains?" and I said, "Nope...just Happy Hour...because Parker won't remember it- but we will." And so there wasn't a Clown or Bounce House in sight...
Michael and I ran around like mad on Friday getting everything ready.
At the last minute we switched it from our neighborhood park to our house in case of rain.
Thanks again for another GREAT design, Aiden's Mom even if you live out of state you should contact her!!
Parker's "Adult Only" Punch packed a real punch for sure.
This shop containing vintage treasures makes me happy.
Each month when the 15th would approach I would get stressed, remembering I had to take Parker's monthly photo...As much as I hate to admit it, I often sweat the small things... Now I realize I will truly miss it.
I did my guests a favor and I didn't cook a single thing.
Except for this Monkey, (Just for you Mom!) Some of you may recognize this from Greyson's First.
Thanks for the photo, Vanessa!
It started out kind of OK.
And then...not so much.
The late shift. So much fun. We had such a great evening surrounded by truly amazing friends and the spirit of my family that lives far.
TO the 137 Members signed up for Life with Greyson and Parker -over there on the right- I felt your presence at the party too! Thank you for your commitment to help make the World accept all kinds of Different!
If we aren't friends yet, you can find me on Facebook. I love hearing from you.
I think it is truly important to note, if you didn't have a party for your kid, or you did--but didn't color coordinate it, or take pictures of your new baby every month- etc. that sure as hell doesn't make you a bad Mom- don't even think that way.
We are too hard on ourselves and we compare ourselves in ways that makes us feel bad much too often.
It might just mean that you aren't OCD, like me! Parker didn't give a crap that he had adorable stickers or his own brand of soda. I can fully admit- that stuff was for me, because doing that kind of stuff makes me happy. It's fun for me. I'm a good Mom because I love my kids and I am there any time they need me. Not because I had vintage straws at my party...
Big First Birthday Hugs,
Chrissy
I had been craving Lion's Choice this week. NOW I'm craving In & Out Burgers. I live nowhere near a place I can get either!!!
ReplyDeleteYou probably don't want me to mail you a 3-day old one in the fridge that I need to throw away?! :-)
DeleteIt looked like it was a FANTASTIC party, Chrissy! So so jealous of the set up! You are a great mama :-)
ReplyDeleteLOVE the theme! How clever! :)
