The Motherhood Spectrum

Today wasn't perfect...but it was really really good...and it was better than yesterday, which is a big, Shew in my book. Extremely good and extremely bad and everything in between...It's what we signed up for in this game called life... Michael is gone and I didn't get a chance to take a shower...but I'm pretty sure I brushed my teeth- and I'm good with that.

Tonight brought change in routine for this Momma and her babies.

We went for an after dinner swim at the Country Club down the street, Greyson's new favorite place to be...eyyyyeeesss and poo.... His perfect combo.

Sometimes we just have to go for it...

And after the pool, we went to a local Farmer's Market...and at the end of the night when we were getting ready to leave, I noticed it was darker than usual for 7:30 pm ...

And I about pooped my pants when I got in the car and realized it was that dark because it was actually 8:32 at night.  (I really can't believe I am keeping the pooped my pants sentence in here...But only because I'm too tired to think of an alternative and that's the first thing that came to mind and it made me laugh and because I'm a 3rd grader...)

Once upon a time sleeping in until 8:30am...was not sleeping in at all...and staying out until 8:30pm...was not staying out late at all...

Once upon a time...many years ago...eating fruit meant sucking on the lime on my margarita...and eating more vegetables meant getting extra ketchup with my fries...

There was once a time in my life- that living around construction-and all the trucks that come with it would have annoyed me...and now it brings me so much joy every single day--because it makes him happy...

And on days they pour concrete- and the concrete trucks are out...I kinda feel like it's Christmas.

On the nights Michael is gone each week, I always swear that I'm going to go to bed early...and somehow I don't put my head on my pillow until at least midnight...almost every time.

Tonight on the drive home from the Farmer's Market, I rolled all the windows down and welcomed in the warm breeze...We threw bedtimes out the window... And we all had tired grins on our faces...and sticky juices from fresh fruit on our faces and hands...

I can still taste purple from eating so many gem colored grapes that were so sweet they almost made my belly hurt.

Summer....The Season I couldn't do without...

Summer... 2012...Farmer's Market...You had me at SPF 0....You complete me...

Summer...The Season that makes me want to quote the Bible and Air Supply and Jerry McGuire.

{These lyrics have nothing to do with Summer or anything else we are talking about- but once I mentioned Air Supply- I had to go on Itunes and listen to some of their songs...Be still my 8th grade heart...and I may or may not have sang my lungs out while dancing around in the kitchen...
Are you old enough to remember too? And I know the night is fading...and I know that time's gonna fly...and I'm never gonna tell you everything I gotta tell you but I know I gotta give it a try...}

We all have different things that make us tick....The who the what the why the when and the how.... Things that make us want seek more information...I always want to know the why and the how behind the what... I don't know how I survived before Google...

Allegedly the first Farmer's Market occurred in 1934 on the corner of 3rd and Fairfax in LA. A contingent of Farmers displayed their produce on the tailgates of their trucks on this busy street corner. The results were remarkable and it instantly became an institution... I would have love to have heard these Farmers brainstorming this brilliant idea....an idea that has kept its old fashioned feel and ideals over the test of time...I guarantee when the Farmers were bouncing around this "Market" idea for the first time there was someone who told them it would never work...that no one would come...that it might be a waste of good produce...

Instant recipe for happy: Surround yourself with people who believe in you...and people that support you even when they don't believe in what you are doing--but still believe in you.

Positive Words can change someones life... Try it if you don't believe me.

Since I can't make our days chock full of Summer...sometimes it's so nice to fill the nights...

Good night you too...
