this moment

Tonight I am comfortable on my couch...warm and cozy despite the cooling temperatures outside. There is no where else in the entire World I'd rather be...

Next to me breathing steady is my Muse...

Moments like these feel sacred in Nature. I feel as though I must be the only person in the World to feel this overwhelming feeling of Love and Gratitude... Sometimes at night I think I might burst...

Tomorrow, when I want to yell at him for leaving his juice box upside down on the couch... I will remember this moment...

Tomorrow when I want to yell at him for taking toys from Parker and them pushing him over...I will remember this moment...

Tomorrow when he takes too long to get into the car- getting sidetracked by 100 other things, when he screams because he has to come inside, when he won't wait next to me while I load Parker in the car in a crowded parking lot, when he won't finish his dinner and when he cries because he doesn't want to go to bed... I will remember this moment..

And although I know firsthand that it is sometimes tough to be a Mom...I will remember that sometimes it really is tough to be a kid...but I will remember this moment and smile...

Last night was Halloween, and it was like a dream come true.
No expectations is the new little black dress. It looks good on everyone.

We just let him just be him... He shined through so bright, my little mechanic.

And he was cool with it because he got to wear a shirt with Lightening McQueen on it. More than cool- jumping good. (this one is for you Nick! who sent me a text saying- I don't think I'll ever get sick of Greyson jumping photos. Best thing ever.)

He's the real deal.

And my Doodle was a mighty Construction Man....

Who refused to wear his hat...Because he's a dare devil like that... Photobucket

We went to a Halloween party and had the greatest time... Greyson and Parker had fun. We even went Trick or Treating...And Greyson made me so happy and so proud. Nice folks would open the door and Greyson would just walk into the house...as in all the way in...as in I would have to go run in and chase him to bring him back out...

He totally got the hang of it. He'd just walk up and wait with the other kids...and grab some candy after I told him it was OK (and then help himself to their living room). I can't imagine how his brain made sense of this one- you mean I just have to knock on doors and I get candy? That's fantastic. He didn't even care about the candy- he just enjoyed the ride. After about 4 houses we were all done-- all of us...and Grey was content eating his candy. Greyson can't have soy, dairy or gluten- so to be safe I packed him some special candy bars- but the very first house we went to gave him a full size bag of Skittles- which are OK for him to eat. Tell me God didn't have a hand in that one.

For every crappy day, for every- when can I catch a break? thought...I got mine last night...and I'm still smiling.

But if for some reason tomorrow I am not smiling...I'll remember this Moment right now...
